18th Annual Friends of MorseLife Golf Classic Scheduled For March 2nd

West Palm Beach, FL (February 2, 2009) – The Friends of MorseLife are looking for some caring community members who love an exhilarating round of golf, and have a passion for helping seniors of our community.

The Friends of MorseLife 18th Annual Golf Classic, to be held Monday, March 2nd at The Fountains Country Club in Lake Worth, promises participants a great day of golfing, while at the same time, the opportunity to help support MorseLife’s mission of enhancing lives of elders of our community. This event is also known as the Morry Rapoport Memorial Golf Classic in honor of the late Mr. Rapoport who established the fund-raising event for Morse nearly twenty years ago.


Chairs and committee members for the Friends of MorseLife 18th Annual Golf Classic got together recently to put the final touches in planning the fund raising event for MorseLife, to be held March 2nd at The Fountains in Lake Worth. Irwin Peckman of Palm Beach Gardens is Golf Classic Chair and Burt Katz of Palm Beach Gardens is Golf Classic Honorary Chair. “For all of these years, we have provided a wonderful opportunity for our caring community to come out to support the efforts to raise funds for MorseLife,” noted Irwin Peckman. “And how wonderful it is to enjoy our golf tournament, while making a difference to the seniors who need the programs and services of this much-loved organization!”

Marjorie Agran, Chair of Friends of MorseLife, thanked all of the chairs of the event for their hard work. “Friends of MorseLife Day is among our major fund raising events of the year, and thank you so much supporting our efforts to raise the funds MorseLife so greatly needs to continue to enhance the lives of the seniors of our community,” she said. “I am sure we will all have a fantastic time in the process!!”

The Friends of MorseLife is a devoted group of community members chaired by Marjorie Agran – of various ages and interests – committed to enhancing the quality of life to the seniors served by MorseLife. Events such as this one help to pay for both designated gifts, flowers and wine for Shabbat and the holidays, events and outings and presents for residents of Morse Geriatric Center for Chanukah, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. Additionally, the group provides funding for a music enhancement program and Direct TV service for all Morse Geriatric Center residents, special needs grants and last year presented the nursing home with a wheelchair-accessible bus for outings.

The Golf Classic begins at 7:30 am with breakfast and registration, followed by a shot-gun start at 8:45 am and an awards luncheon at 1:00 pm. The Golf entrance fee is $300 per person and sponsorship opportunities are available.
