Friends of MorseLife Enjoy Cards & Games In Support of Seniors

West Palm Beach, FL (February 17, 2009) – More than 250 caring individuals spent the day recently playing cards and games, while at the same time sharing their passion for making lives better for the seniors of our community.

The Friends of MorseLife “Games!”, held Wednesday, February 11 at The Tradition of the Palm Beaches, offered a day of cards and games, shopping for exotic handbags, jewelry, gifts, sweaters and other fineries, and a sumptuous luncheon, while providing attendees the opportunity to help support MorseLife’s mission of enhancing lives of elders of our community.

Adele Shamban and Barbara Sidel, both of Palm Beach Gardens, were co-chairs of the event, supported by Marjorie Agran of Palm Beach Gardens who is Chairman for the Friends of MorseLife. “With the hard work of an incredible team of passionate women, this was a fantastic and successful event,” noted Marjorie Agran. “And how wonderful it was to have a great time, while making a difference to the seniors who need the programs and services of MorseLife!”

The Friends of MorseLife is a devoted group of community members – of various ages and interests – committed to enhancing the quality of life to the seniors served by MorseLife. Events such as this one help to pay for both designated gifts, flowers and wine for Shabbat and the holidays, events and outings and presents for residents of Morse Geriatric Center for Chanukah, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. Additionally, the group provides funding for a music enhancement program and Direct TV service for all Morse Geriatric Center residents, special needs grants and last year presented the nursing home with a wheelchair-accessible bus for outings.

Its final event of the winter season is the Friends of MorseLife 18th Annual Golf Classic, to be held on March 2 at The Fountains in Lake Worth. This event begins at 7:30 am with breakfast and registration, followed by a shot-gun start at 8:45 am and an awards luncheon at 1:00 pm.
