West Palm Beach, FL (March 16, 2009) – With a long-standing reputation as a center of excellence in the care of seniors, MorseLife’s new initiative to launch next month, MorseLife Learning Institute (MLI), will expand in another direction – to become renowned as a center of learning in teaching best practices in leadership, health care and Kosher culinary arts.
Already noted for its commitment to professional and community education, MorseLife Learning Institute will enable MorseLife to expand its reach exponentially through both online and onsite coursework. The goal of MLI is to provide quality clinical education for professionals within the health care industry, and to share management, leadership and human resources “best practices” with members of the professional and lay community. Notably, Morse Geriatric Center, the long term care and short term rehabilitation facility of MorseLife, was recently awarded the Gold Seal by the State of Florida in recognition of its exceptionally high standards and quality of care – an award that only 2% of nearly 700 Florida nursing homes have achieved.
“We will broaden our reach through e-college technology among students in need of continuing education, training and management/leadership programs,” noted Keith A. Myers, president and CEO for MorseLife. “In a short period, we have a comprehensive and disciplined approach for our organization and without a doubt, we will achieve our goal of being a center of learning – locally, nationally and even internationally.”
Myers notes that among the MorseLife team, there are vast resources and considerable expertise to pass along to the greater community, as well as untapped opportunities. “From training new generations of nursing professionals, to becoming one of three schools in the world offering certification in kosher culinary arts, to passing along principles of leadership and management to professionals throughout the country, we are so well positioned to teach best practices and impact the careers of many,” he said. “Additionally, with the increasing trend over the past few years in schools offering online courses, we see a wonderful opportunity to bring our knowledge to a wide audience.”
MorseLife Learning Institute comprises three major areas of learning:
Through MLI, Myers noted that the organization is reaching out to various audiences, including MorseLife employees, older adults and family caregivers, clinical professionals, HR professionals, executives and mid-level managers and volunteer board leadership. “And again, we offer the flexibility of offering courses online with the exception of those that require some hands-on instruction, and we are therefore significantly broadening our reach throughout the country and beyond,” he said.
Keith A. Myers notes that the organization is bringing to reality this important initiative – that of becoming a center of learning throughout the country, if not the world. These are exciting times for MorseLife, and we are proud to be at the forefront in the area of education.”
