MorseLife Soiree To Be Held At Breakers - December 10

Supporters To Toast, Dine and Dance in Celebration of Nonprofits
26th Year of Enhancing the Lives of Seniors

West Palm Beach, FL, November 4, 2009 – MorseLife friends and supporters will don their most festive cocktail attire this year as they toast, dine and dance at the charitable nonprofit’s Annual Dinner Dance, to be held Thursday, December 10, 2009 at The Breakers Palm Beach. This much anticipated soiree is held annually as both a celebration and fund-raiser for the renowned organization, which has served the needs of seniors for over 26 years.

MorseLife’s Annual Dinner Dance, a fund raiser and a celebration of the charitable nonprofit’s 26 years of serving the health care and related needs of seniors of Palm Beach County, will be held Thursday, December 10h at The Breakers Palm Beach. Over a quarter century ago, MorseLife founders and supporters came together with a vision of providing a full spectrum of care to respond to the needs of an influx of Jewish seniors in Palm Beach County. The long-term vision of our founders was to establish a senior care organization that would not merely care for residents at the latter stages of their lives, but offer care and support services that would enable them to "age in place" in the comfort of their own homes or community settings.

Today, MorseLife's continuum of care, in line with the vision of our founders, includes short-term rehabilitation, long-term care, independent and assisted living, Medicare skilled home health and in-home services, geriatric case management, adult day center, meals-on-wheels, and research and training.

As the organization looks forward into its next quarter century, its plan is to meet the needs of a growing, aging population. Last year, its long-term care facility, Morse Geriatric Center, received the Gold Seal Award from the Governor’s Panel on Excellence in Long-Term Care – an honor a mere 2% of all Florida nursing homes have achieved. This summer, MorseLife received accreditation to establish its Medicare-certified skilled home health agency, and also established the Kosher Adult Congregate Meal Site program, in conjunction the closure of the Jewish Community Center’s site in West Palm Beach in June. This fall, MorseLife also enlarged and redesigned its Rehabilitation Pavilion at Morse Geriatric Center to serve a growing number of patients in need of rehabilitation services in the community. The 2,500 square foot Pavilion includes ample space for multiple therapies, such as physical, occupational and speech therapies. Also included is a state-of-the-art community re-integration program offering a simulated “apartment” set-up to facilitate better transition to home. MorseLife is also the first medical facility in Florida to offer the NASA-Developed AlterG Anti Gravity Treadmill, which enables a person to walk on the treadmill longer, minimize stress on their joints and exercise at a higher level of intensity.

“As we end this year, we have much to celebrate at MorseLife, including the establishment of fantastic programs that will further enhance our ability to make lives better for seniors, and financial solvency even in these tough times through philanthropic support of our donors and the result of strategic planning and solid management,” noted Beatrice W. Bloch, MorseLife Chairman. “Our annual Dinner Dance is an opportunity to both celebrate all that has been accomplished over these 26 years of growth, and to garner continued support from our generous community.”
